Simple pleasures

Today was a glorious day; a day of simple pleasures that somehow left me feeling damn good (something not very common nowadays). Freedom in the wards, talking to nice patients, clerking with a nice group; all these are pleasures I haven't had in some time. Then heading over to nus, seeing rag taking shape; seeing old friends and the icing on the cake; 3 hours of soccer, to let out some of that frustration and feel good again.

Does it sound very pathetic to say that hour spent mingling in the canteen felt real good? It never really struck me how much I miss everyone until that time, until I realised something that's been missing for a loong time was now there. So thank you, you 3, for that half hour over lunch, it meant more to me than it might have seemed. =)

Twice today I watched friends suffer helplessly. Ironic one of the factors driving me into medicine was to prevent (or at least reduce) this, so that I can do something about it.
