Commencement

We've all heard the familiar words before: " long journey" "ups and downs" "our day" etc. I'm not going to repeat them, no fear. But let me just say that at the end of this night, I truly felt a great pang of sadness that it was all over, and that we would start going our separate ways once more.

I've written a lot about medical school, the experiences i've had, the friends i've made. Well as we progressed through the evening, from the meeting n swapping stories at the foyer, to robing n laughing at how ridiculous we looked in the robing room, to sitting quietly in the hall watching our peers go up (some with disgustingly long lists of awards!), and erupted in a cacophony of photo taking n gift giving, I quietly relived all that we've gone through in these 5 yrs, and where we are today. And i felt immensely proud, for all of us and to be a part of this.

Many of the photos in my camera are lousy; from ppl looking elsewhere to blurred to over or underexposed shots. Yet I will treasure each and every one of them; someday, when you guys are rich and famous, I will bring out these photos and shamelessly parade how I know this and that celebrity hahaha. For make no mistake, amongst us i can see the rising stars beginning to rise, and I can see future leaders, movers and shakers.

There are many photos, and I don't mean to choose any1 above any1 else. But this photo, with 2 of my dearest friends, stands out cos i think it expresses our mood better than many others.Check out the megawatt smiles on the 2 lovely ladies! haha...
Came back to reality with not just a thump, but a crash though, when i returned to work to find a ward chock full of patients, 1 ward mate on leave and 1 on MC. And got scolded completely unfairly (but life's not fair is it). At least he did make an attempt to make amends later on.

Glanced through the yearbook, another treasure trove of memories, but that's another story for another time.

Having a lifelong dream come true and holding it in your hand truly does make for an amazing experience!
