Eclinics
On consideration, with some expert advice as well, I've decided the tagboard must go. It's not really much in use, and people seem to have stopped leaving comments once it arrived. Between the 2, I'd rather have comments that i can look back on, as opposed to replies in posts to things that are no longer there...
With our abdomen tutorial yesterday, we've officially come to the end of clinical skills foundation course. Not counting, of course, the exams we have next week; but these are basically just for show. For all intents and purposes, we're now expected to be familiar in the wards; and I think we are, to a certain extent. Bring on M3!!
It's been an exhausting time: what with having to deal with an enormous commute, and a crazy timetable that leaves no time or energy for anything else. I've spent 13 hour days in the hospital; not actually working 13 hours, but somehow never exactly sitting still either. Lots of lessons, both intended and unintended, and realised how things will be. The greatest regret I have here is that everyone seems to be heading their separate ways already, despite our valiant efforts to the contrary. It just isn't the same when u see only the same people day in day out, and the world seems to have shrunk a lot.
But I have to say the group I've gotten was better than I could've hoped for; it didn't exactly turn out to be as smooth sailing as i envisioned (what ever does) but now that we're about to be split up, my only regret is that I got this group for such a short posting, instead of one year. Now my future CGs have large shoes to fill (except the one that's already confirmed with me haha). Let's hope the trend continues that way...
And these few weeks have reaffirmed my decision to enter this field in the first place; my time here has been incredibly satisfying, even though I'm not the one responsible for taking care of the patients. Looking forward to my future here, and that's all I could've asked for 5 weeks ago.
Welcome back to Singapore, Julius! Looking forward to meeting you, and all the rest who are now free as soon as possible... I'll be available(and bored!!) from next friday...
