Goodbye
Before I write on SIP; i find this very funny. You appear to be selfish and uncaring etc etc and this is superficial and in times of peril you will drop anything at any time and provide aid. Well i honestly don't doubt you will; but I do wonder how often it is that we are in times of mortal peril. And these being so rare, what is the point in you calling urself my gd friend when u cannot bother to remember things important to me, when you don't find time to find out what's going on in my life, when the only time there's a cursory qn of how are u is when you want to talk about something bothering you? Maybe I'm a retard but that in my book is not what friendship is about.
The funniest thing is how you can come complain to me how someone else does this to you. If there is a god of irony, you are keeping him very busy indeed.
With tomorrow we end our final SIP, in orthopaedics. I have always had an affinity for this field, and a strong desire to end up here. These 4 weeks have not diminished my affection for the subject in any way, but they have seriously made me reconsider my future here. Those doubts aren't gone yet, probably will only make a final decision after my housemanship.
But apart from that, I think i have actually enjoyed myself here ( i know my grp mates wanna kill me now :P) I've always enjoyed the responsibility, dealing with patients, watching them recover. Here in this ward they certainly do recover at amazing speeds haha. Also, we have really been made to feel at home by the nurses/HOs/MOs; i've lost count of the number of drinks i've been bought, or the number of times we've sat ard gossiping and cracking jokes. This to me is what working life should be all about, and I'm v grateful for this taste of it.
This is a v screwed up hospital, I never want to work here or use this rubbish system, but i will look back on my time here with fondness, from the few cheery patients who always wave to me when i walk past, to the nurses that mangled my name (and I theirs, in turn haha) to the sheer friendship n team spirit between the HOs. These were good times; and I will miss you guys too.
But life's like that, and its time to move on once more. 2 weeks of holidays await us, tho there will not be much time for rest/bumming around. Paeds test in the short term, medicine posting in the medium term and MBBS as always looming on the horizon.
Will write abt the more outstanding moments stuck in my memory sometime later, when I'm a little calmer.
