Good times

It's been an interesting few days, with lots of stuff happening. No longer true are my complaints of last week, I've been out every single day this week. Tues with the cricket dudes, wed skating +movie, thurs class outing. Friendships renewed and forged anew, and experiences shared once more. Lots of things to think about too, in these few days...

I read somewhere that old friends are the best, cos there's no more weight of expectations. We've spent so much time together that we automatically adjust for each other, and there's very little disappointment cos we each know exactly what the others will do. Certainly holds true for the cricket guys; we go back nearly a decade now, and I have to say that friendship's worth more than I could ever say. It doesn't get much better than this =)

How often do we get to try completely new things, these days? Yesterday was such a day, with my maiden attempt on the ice. Plenty of butt busting falls, plenty of embarrassment. But at e same time, I had a surprisingly good time despite the choking crowd and uncomfortable footwear. The sensation of barely holding your balance is daunting, but u start moving it's all worth it. All in all, a real eye opening experience. Kudos to e ones who thought of it.

Class dinner today was another example of the above; somehow despite the 3 years and countless differing experiences we've been thru, it was so easy to fall back into the same roles of whacker and whacked, of jokes and magic tricks. It was hard to believe we've come so far from thoes days, for today we relived them once more.

Twice in the last 28 hours i've run into familiar faces who i've not seen for years. And yet, both times, I just let e opportunity slip. Somehow the need to go over and say hi wasn't quite strong enough to overcome my comfort within a little music enclosed sphere. Once I would've denounced someone who did that to me; now it comes to naturally. Sigh..

Happy New Year, my friends.
