Calm before the storm
It's been a good couple of days, what with a great meet up session with the cricket dudes, and some dota. Lively, entertaining, informative (nothing to do with studies, unfortunately). If only life was more like that; without having a guilty prickling that everyone else is mugging in one way or another, nobody else is being so short sighted and lazy. Thus far I've successfully shut that away in the corner it usually inhabits, telling myself there's plenty of time and that the last bunch of exams just ended. That excuse is now wearing thin. Sigh...
Yesterday just reinforced one of the greatest grudges I have about my life; the simple unavoidable fact that there are lots of things in this life that I'll never get to experience. Thus far, I've gotten by because I live "through" others in a way. Now I'm left wondering how long more can this go on. It's not as simple as just going out to do it myself, cos that's not the kind of person I am, nor was I brought up to be that way. But at times like this, I'm just left wondering what kind of person am I; bloody dysfunctional clown stuck between 2 worlds.
Having said that though, I have to qualify that I am still very grateful for the life I have now. I can see the pitfalls others are facing; I can see that these are things I never have to worry about. I'm in the more or less enviable position of not having had to deal with a major dilemma or problem, very little than makes me do soul searching. Yet, somehow, somewhere, there's the curiosity; what would i do there in that situation, how would i deal with that. Sigh...
Dun take me seriously, guys, I'm just letting off steam here. Such feelings, when I had them before, rarely last more than a day or 2...
